Fisher-Price brilliant basics musical singing snail 13 pieces is a toy to teach kids to sort three different shapes (flower, triangle and star)
The shell of the snail has red flip open lid with 3 different shaped holes on top and babies have to try to match the shape of the piece and the opening and drop it in. The snail has a curved bottom so it can rock and when it rocks, it has a button that gets pushed and the toy plays music.
Easy toy to play with. If the toy is too complicated, young babies might get frustrated and give up.
They will love the music.
Kids learn 3 different shapes and this improves hand eye coordination.
No sharp edges and the pieces are big enough so they cannot be swallowed.
The toy is quite sturdy and withstood a lot of abuse from my daughter.
This would be a major con for any parent. There is NO switch to stop the music.
With great difficulty, mommy makes the baby sleep and when mommy tries to put away the toys, ta da the rather loud music starts and baby is awake. This things goes off even when the shelf in which it is stored is opened. I had a tough time with this and my kid loved it and wouldn’t let it go out of sight.
So beware mommies before you buy it.
There are much better sorting toys. I liked the one that my kid’s play school had. It was a wooden cube and kids could learn about more shapes.
