Russian Chain stitch can be used as a border or as a powdered filling stitch.
It is worked in groups of three chain stitches.
This belongs to the chain stitch family so knowing how to stitch the chain stitch or lazy daisy stitch will be helpful.
Start with a regular chain.
Stitch the next stitch at an angle like shown below.
Anchor that chain at its tip like shown below and come back up again to the starting point of this chain.
Now stitch another chain stitch leaning to the right side.
Anchor it to the fabric and come back up in the middle to start the next bunch of chain stitches.
Continue the same steps.
